SoftPro Water Systems sells water softeners and whole-house filtration factory-direct from Box Elder, South Dakota, under the same ownership as Quality Water Treatment. Its hardware is built by third-party manufacturers, principally Canature Water Group, with the Elite and ECO softeners running a Canature upflow control valve and the salt-free conditioners built by Nelsen Corp.
The range is strongest on efficiency. The Elite Smart HE regenerates upflow on demand with precision brining and skips backwash on up to four regenerations in five, and independent bench testing by WaterFilterGuru measured better than 99 percent calcium and magnesium reduction on a 120 ppm private well. Warranty terms are unusually good across most of the catalogue: lifetime on mineral and brine tanks, limited lifetime on control valves, ten years on resin in city systems.
The weakness is documentation. No SoftPro-branded model appears in NSF drinking water treatment unit listings under any standard. The listings that exist belong to Canature and cover valves, tanks and resin as components rather than SoftPro systems as a whole, and several product pages carry a generic NSF / WQA / ANSI badge that corresponds to no listing. The Fortress conditioner is the single exception, carrying IAPMO R and T certification to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61, which is a materials safety standard rather than a performance one. SoftPro also publishes no rated service flow rate for eleven of its fourteen systems, no reduction percentage for any contaminant, and no dimensions anywhere. Resin is not warranted at all on its well water softeners.
