Stuff VS Things is operated by Unbroken Ads LLC, Hollywood, Florida, United States. Questions about this policy or about data held about you go to contact@stuffvsthings.com.

Server logs. Our host records standard web server information for every request: IP address, browser and device identifiers sent by your browser, the page requested, the referring page, and the time of the request. This happens automatically at the server level on every website and is used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults.

Email you send us. If you write to us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as needed to deal with it.

Page view counts. Each page keeps a running total of how many times it has been opened. It is a single number stored against the page and records nothing about who opened it.

That is the complete list.

This site has no user accounts, no registration, no comment system, no contact form, and no newsletter. We run no analytics software, no advertising network, no tracking pixels, no session recording, and no fingerprinting. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies, because it runs neither.

The site is built on WordPress and WooCommerce. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to administer the site. WooCommerce may set a session or cart cookie in the course of normal page delivery. These are functional cookies necessary to serve the site, they contain no personal information, and they are not used to track you across other websites. WooCommerce’s order attribution feature, which is switched on by default and records in cookies where each visit came from, is switched off on this site.

Browser storage. Two conveniences are kept in your own browser rather than on our server: your recent searches in the search box, and the products you have added to the compare tray. They stay on your device and are not sent to us, except that the products you choose appear in the address of a comparison page when you open one. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.

If we add analytics or advertising in future, this section will be rewritten before those tools go live, and a consent mechanism will be in place where one is required.

Some links to retailers and manufacturers are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you to the seller’s site, and the affiliate network handling the relationship will typically set a cookie there so the seller knows the visit came from us. That cookie is set on their domain, not ours, under their privacy policy rather than this one.

What we receive back is a report of sales and commission. It contains no information identifying you, and we cannot connect a purchase to a visitor. Our affiliate disclosure explains the commercial side.

Three companies process data in the ordinary course of delivering this site to you.

• Kinsta hosts the site and maintains the server logs described above.
• Cloudflare delivers the site’s content and provides security filtering, which involves handling your IP address and request headers.
• Google Fonts serves the site’s typeface. Your browser downloads the font files from Google’s servers, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when it does, under Google’s own privacy policy. No other Google service, script or cookie is used on this site.

None of them is given access to information beyond what is required to perform that function.

Server logs are retained by our host on its standard schedule, typically a matter of weeks, and are then discarded. Email correspondence is kept until it is no longer needed.

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to contact@stuffvsthings.com and we will respond within thirty days.

We will honour these requests from anyone who makes one, regardless of where you live and regardless of whether a particular law entitles you to make it. Given what this site collects, in most cases the honest answer will be that we hold nothing identifying you at all.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Pages here link to manufacturer sites, retailers, certification databases and other external sources. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site, subject to their policies, not this one.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to what we collect will be made before the collection starts, not after.
