Verdict

It suits a buyer with a van or RV roof that sees partial shade who wants rear-side gain and a split layout, and who accepts 19.9 percent module efficiency and an output warranty with no stated end point.

Strengths

  • Half-cut parallel layout keeps one half producing when the other is shaded
  • Rear face adds up to 30 percent more energy over reflective surfaces, by Renogy's claim
  • IP68 junction box and IP68 MC4 connectors
  • 10-year material and workmanship warranty
  • 14 AWG leads of 39.4 in
  • 4-pack works out to $171.00 a panel

Drawbacks

  • 19.9 percent module efficiencycomputed from 200 W over 1,312 x 765 mm; the 100 W sibling reaches 20.0

Reddit owners mostly report Renogy's rigid panels holding up: an r/OffGrid owner has run several for more than a decade with none failed, and an r/vandwellers thread on the brand sums it up as panels fine, other gear less so. An r/VanLife owner's RSP200D lost half its voltage after about 18 months, and Renogy shipped a replacement in two weeks under the 5-year warranty; that poster is quoted on Renogy's own ShadowFlux page. An r/SolarDIY buyer of the 200 W suitcase reported a defective charge controller, two wrong replacement parts and dozens of emails before a 20 percent refund (2025).

Footprint Hero, which links Renogy panels through Amazon and through Renogy's own affiliate program, ranked Renogy's older 100 W mono panel first of five 100 W panels it tested: 71.6 W peak in a December output test (2021) and 570 Wh over 24 hours against 490 Wh from a Newpowa (2023). On DIY Solar Forum, a 2022 thread opens with an owner whose Renogy gear still works after a decade, while a thread titled 'I only get 85W out of my Two Renogy 100W panels' reports one panel as low as 40 percent of rating and four averaging 54 percent.

Both channels found carry a tie to the panels they review. Freedom in a Can, which passes on a 10 percent Renogy code through Renogy's affiliate link, found no delamination on two 100 W flexible panels after 9 months and 9,000 miles. Johnny's Weekends, which earns Amazon commission on the panels it links, found Renogy's 200 W flexible panel performed well but trailed a CIGS panel under shade (2023, about 128,000 views).

Renogy is the brand of RNG International, Inc., of Ontario, California, which Dr. Yi Li founded in 2010.

It sells direct from renogy.com and its Amazon and eBay brand stores, and through Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, Camping World and Walmart's marketplace.

The Renogy RSP200DCT is a 200 W rigid bifacial panel with 80 N-type half-cut cells behind 3.2 mm tempered glass in an anodized aluminum frame. Renogy's datasheet rates it at 25 V and 8 A at maximum power, with a 29.6 V open-circuit voltage and an 8.7 A short-circuit current. Its half-cut parallel layout splits the panel into two zones so one half keeps producing when the other is shaded, a design Renogy uses on the 200 W size only. It measures 51.7 x 30.1 x 1.2 in and weighs 22.71 lb. The junction box and MC4 connectors are rated IP68, with two bypass diodes and 39.4 in leads of 14 AWG. Renogy claims up to 30 percent extra energy from the rear face and up to 25 percent cell efficiency; the datasheet's module efficiency is 19.9 percent, and the temperature coefficient of Pmax is -0.32 percent per °C. Renogy gives it a 10-year material and workmanship warranty and a 25-year power output warranty. It sells singly at $199.99, as a 2-pack at $352.99 and as a 4-pack at $683.99.
