Renogy is the brand of RNG International, Inc., of Ontario, California, which Dr. Yi Li founded in 2010.
It sells direct from renogy.com and its Amazon and eBay brand stores, and through Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, Camping World and Walmart's marketplace.
The Renogy DCC50S (RBC50D1S) is a 12 V dual-input charger that charges a house battery at up to 50 A from a vehicle's starter battery and alternator, or from solar panels through a built-in MPPT controller. Renogy's manual rates solar input at up to 50 V and 660 W, alternator input at up to 660 W from 13.2 to 16 V for a traditional alternator and 12 to 16 V for a smart (Euro 6) alternator, and charging efficiency at up to 97 percent; the product page prints 94 percent. In smart-alternator mode, with the IGN signal wire fitted, it starts charging once the starter battery holds above 12.0 V for 15 seconds and stops below 11.5 V (13.2 V and 12.7 V for a traditional alternator). When solar and alternator both feed it, each supplies at most 25 A, and below 7 A of solar current a low-current cut-off hands charging to the alternator. Charge current can be set to 50, 40, 30, 20 or 10 A, and profiles cover AGM, gel, flooded, lithium and a user-defined setting. It measures 9.61 x 5.75 x 3.78 in (244 x 146 x 96 mm), weighs 4.10 lb, uses M8 x 1.25 terminal studs and a common negative, and draws under 30 mA idle. Phone monitoring needs Renogy's separately sold BT-2 Bluetooth module on its RS485 port. The product page gives a 2-year warranty; Renogy's warranty document lists the RBC50D1S-G7 at 3 years and the G6 at 2. Renogy sells it alone at $307.99, with the BT-2 module at $324.99 and with the BT-2 and a Renogy ONE Core at $354.99.
