Renogy is the brand of RNG International, Inc., of Ontario, California, which Dr. Yi Li founded in 2010.
It sells direct from renogy.com and its Amazon and eBay brand stores, and through Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, Camping World and Walmart's marketplace.
The Renogy Pro 12V/24V 50A IP67 Dual Input DC-DC On-Board Battery Charger with MPPT (RBC2150DS-21B) charges a 12 V or 24 V house battery from a 12 V or 24 V starter battery or from solar panels, with a buck-boost stage that lets 12 V panels charge a 24 V bank and the reverse. Renogy rates it 750 W nominal output, 50 A at 12 V and 25 A at 24 V, with solar input of 15 to 50 V, up to 750 W and 48 A, and starter-battery input of 9 to 30 V. It charges from solar first and tops up from the alternator to reach full output, drawing 48 A from the alternator when the panels give 2 A. Smart-alternator start is recommended at 12.0 V held for 15 seconds and stop at 11.5 V (13.2 V and 12.7 V for a traditional alternator), and Renogy's FAQ says the input voltage values can be adjusted through the app. Renogy's manual gives nominal charging efficiency of at least 94 percent at 12 V and 92 percent at 24 V, 99 percent dynamic MPPT tracking, idle draw under 50 mA (the product page says 20 mA), an IP67 rating and operation from -13 to 158 °F. Bluetooth is built in for the Renogy app, the ONE Core or the Vision 7 display, with RV-C/CAN communication. It measures 9.69 x 6.06 x 2.24 in (246 x 154 x 57 mm) and weighs 5.51 lb. The box holds the charger, a quick guide, a 3 m battery temperature sensor, a 5 m IGN signal wire and four ST6.3 x 25 mm mounting screws. Renogy sells it at $409.99, with a launch offer adding a free 60 A ANL fuse set.
