The Wider Small PRO, ETL Classified, Untested by Anyone Else

The BIOMAX PRO MIDI is the wider of PlatinumLED's two short PRO panels, 19.69 by 11.81 inches with 216 LEDs at seven adjustable wavelengths from 480 to 1060 nm and a stated 12-minute session. Intertek's directory lists it as ETL Classified to ES60601-1, the US edition of the IEC 60601-1 medical electrical safety standard, so it scores 5 on verification; no 510(k) exists, and FDA lists it only under the importer's registration. The only output figure is PlatinumLED's own: a LightLab International report it commissioned averages 90.27 mW/cm2 at 6 inches, but over a 6 by 6 inch square at the centre of the panel only, so light output is not scored. Its 233 square inch face scores 4 on coverage. One Reddit owner runs two MIDIs and likes them, and otherwise its social score reads the PRO ULTRA. It is $999 on platinumtherapylights.com.

  • PlatinumLED states 290 mW/cm2 on a solar meter, three times its lab's figure
  • Only 3 of its 216 LEDs are blue
  • No tester has covered the MIDI itself
  • 20 percent restocking fee and return freight on a 60-day return

The BIOMAX PRO MIDI is the wider small size of PlatinumLED's PRO panels, 19.69 by 11.81 by 2.76 inches and 15 lb, carrying 216 LEDs, 105 red, 108 infrared and 3 blue. It plugs into the mains, draws 202 W on low and 386 W on high, is cooled by fans and hangs from an included hook. It carries seven published peaks, 480, 630, 660, 810, 830, 850 and 1060 nm, each adjustable on its own, with smart-mode presets, pulsing, a touchscreen and an included remote, and PlatinumLED states a 12-minute PRO session. PlatinumLED sells the PRO in four sizes, the NANO ($799), MIDI ($999), GRANDE ($1,299) and ULTRA ($1,599), and in multi-panel sets of two to four panels from $1,998 to $6,146; PRO stands and mounts run from $79 for a wall bracket to $869 for a motorised horizontal stand, and a professional remote is $169. PlatinumLED's warranty covers the panel for 3 years.

Brand-level

PlatinumLED is the trade name of Platinum LED Holdings LLC of Lake Mary, Florida, run by its founders Mark and Michelle Sawyer. FDA's registration lists the company as developing specifications rather than manufacturing, and E.Shine Systems Limited of China lists the BIOMAX and BIOMAX PRO panels under its own FDA registration; US customs records name E Shine and suppliers in Thailand and Malaysia. PlatinumLED sells direct from platinumtherapylights.com and pays affiliates 5 percent through a referral programme. Amazon US carries only its link-out listings for multi-panel sets, with 0 reviews, and no US retailer sells a PlatinumLED device with a review file of its own, so those two pools are blank on every row. Its Trustpilot profile reads 4.0 from 198 reviews, 151 of them in the last 12 months; PlatinumLED claimed the profile in October 2025 and invites reviews, the profile read 1.9 from 47 before it was claimed, and in September 2026 the split was 61 percent five-star against 32 percent one-star. Complaints there cover the 20 percent restocking fee, buyer-paid return freight, refused warranty claims and combative replies. The BBB holds three files on the company, rated F, F and C, none accredited, with 21 complaints in three years between them. FDA's recall database holds no PlatinumLED entry, and its adverse-event database holds two injury reports on the BIOMAX 900, from 2022 and 2026. Joovv's patent suit against Platinum LED Holdings ended in a consent judgment for Joovv in March 2023, and Mito Red Light's false-advertising suit against PlatinumLED's companies and its marketing contractor closed in September 2023. The review widget on platinumtherapylights.com is first-party and counts in no pool, nor does PlatinumLED's own YouTube channel, and Fuel Health & Wellness counts in no pool because the channel carries Mito and Kineon codes. Every PlatinumLED device carries a 3-year warranty for its original buyer. LED panels may be returned within 60 days less a 20 percent restocking fee and return shipping, a panel counts as open box once delivered, and stands and accessories are final sale. On this row three pools are populated, each reading the PRO ULTRA, because one owner aside, no owner or tester covers the MIDI itself.
