Mito's Highest Lab Average, on Two Wavelengths

The MitoMEGA 2.0 is the full-body panel of Mito's two-wavelength 2.0 series, a 432 sq in face at $1,049. Mito's lab report, commissioned from LightLab International in July 2023, measured a 57.3 mW/cm2 average at 6 inches, the highest average in Mito's published lab table, against more than 165 on its page from a solar meter. Intertek lists the finished panel for electrical safety; there is no 510(k). Amazon rates it 4.9 from 19 ratings, a small pool. Two owners on Reddit report faults: one panel began flashing after a month and was replaced, and another that would not turn on drew only a 10 percent coupon. Against the MitoPRO 1500X it saves $250 and gives up four wavelengths, the app and a year of warranty.

PROS
  • Lab-measured 57.3 mW/cm2 average at 6 in, the highest in Mito's lab table
  • ETL listing on the finished panel
  • 4.9 from 19 ratings on Amazon
  • Door hook and steel cables included; 1 to 20 minute timer
  • $250 less than the MitoPRO 1500X
CONS
  • Two wavelengths only
  • 2-year warranty
  • No 510(k); "FDA Class II registered" is an exempt listing
  • Claimed >165 mW/cm2 is a solar-meter figure
  • 25 lb needs a sturdy mount; stand sold separately

The MitoMEGA 2.0 is the largest panel in Mito's two-wavelength 2.0 series: 36 x 12 x 3 in, 25 lb, with 300 LEDs split equally between 660 and 850 nm. It draws 450 W, has fans and a 1 to 20 minute timer, and ships with a door hook and steel cables. The narrower 36 x 9 in MitoMAX 2.0, with 200 LEDs at 300 W, sells for $749.

Mito Red Light, LLC of Scottsdale, Arizona sells direct from mitoredlight.com, and on Amazon only its 2.0 panels. Its Trustpilot profile reads 4.4 from 1,076 reviews, which Mito invites, split 76 percent five-star against 9 percent one-star, and it replies to 99 percent of negative reviews; the BBB rates it A and has accredited it since September 2021. No US retailer publishes its own reviews of a Mito device: Best Buy's marketplace listings, sold under Mito's trade name MRL Horizons LLC, carry ratings syndicated from mitoredlight.com, so the retailer pool is empty at every level. Mito's one recall, of the discontinued Mito Mobile Super for a battery fire risk, does not cover this device.
