LiTime is the brand of Shenzhen Ampere Time Digital Energy Technology, founded in 2018 and renamed from Ampere Time in December 2022.
It sells direct from litime.com, which ships US orders from warehouses in Los Angeles and Dallas, and through its Amazon store and Walmart's marketplace.
The LiTime 12V 40A DC-DC Battery Charger (L12V40A-DC-E) charges a 12 V house battery from a vehicle's starter battery and alternator at 40 A, or at 20 A when its LC port is bridged to IN+ with a supplied signal cable, and a DC Load mode lets it feed 12 V loads directly. LiTime's manual gives a 12 V to 16 V input window, a maximum alternator input of 680 W, charging efficiency of up to 90 percent and standby draw under 0.6 A. A mode-selector knob sets STD, GEL, AGM or LFP charging, to 14.6 V for lithium and 14.4 V to 14.8 V for lead-acid, and a temperature sensor port adds -3 mV/°C/2V compensation for lead-acid only. It switches on only when its D+ (power-on) port is connected to IN+, by the supplied jumper or by an ignition feed; LiTime's DC-DC collection page says that ignition connection is how its chargers work with smart alternators. It has a cooling fan, a fault LED, input and output studs for M8 ring terminals, and protection against over- and under-voltage, reverse polarity, over-temperature and short circuit; LiTime's Amazon listing warns it is not waterproof and not for marine use. It measures 11.65 x 8.46 x 3.35 in, weighs 4.85 lb and operates from 14°F to 104°F (-10°C to 40°C). The box holds eight mounting screws and two signal cables. LiTime's warranty policy gives its DC-DC chargers 2 years. LiTime also sells the 12V 40A DC-DC Charger with MPPT ($195.99) and the 12V 60A DC-DC Charger ($189.99).
