Usability
The Magna is the entry point into the US Water house-brand range and the only compact whole-house system the company builds domestically end to end. It handles chlorine, chloramine and taste well, and the anti-scale stage prevents scale deposition without removing hardness. That distinction matters: it is not a softener, and the manufacturer says so plainly in its own FAQ. Buyers wanting softer skin or hair need ion exchange, not this. Certification is the weak point. The system itself carries no NSF/ANSI performance certification; only the optional Interceptor cartridge is WQA Gold Seal certified, and to standards 42 and 61, which cover aesthetic effects and materials safety rather than health-effects reduction under 53. Everything else about contaminant reduction is manufacturer-stated.

A three-stage cartridge system that mounts on a single bracket and needs no electricity, drain line or brine tank. Stage one is sediment, stage two carbon block for chlorine and chloramine, and stage three is either a salt-free anti-scale cartridge or the Interceptor purification cartridge, chosen at order time.
