The Home Duo is the only NuvoH2O configuration that publishes a micron rating, and the 10 micron figure on the carbon filter is the most concrete performance number anywhere in the range. That makes it the easiest product here to assess: coarse enough to keep flow up in a small house, fine enough to be doing real carbon work on chlorine and taste. The 20,000 gallon interval is the constraint, and with two cartridges to replace instead of one the running cost is the highest per gallon in the line. Conditioning chelates hardness rather than removing it, so this does not replace a softener on hard water. NuvoH2O states compliance with NSF/ANSI 42 and holds no certifier listing for the system. At 866.99 dollars it costs 232 dollars more than the bare Home Softener, which is a fair price for a carbon stage and a poor one against a competitor's certified under-sink filter plus a real softener.
- Publishes a 10 micron rating on the carbon filter, the only concrete figure in the range
- Carbon stage covers chlorine, VOCs and inorganic chemicals at every tap
- Compact 10.72 inch wide housing at 12 lbs assembled
- No salt, no electricity, no drain line
- 5-year limited warranty and 90-day money-back window
- 20,000 gallon interval across two cartridges gives the highest running cost per gallon in the line
- Does not remove hardness minerals
- No certifier listing; NSF/ANSI 42 compliance is self-declared
- No published reduction percentage for chlorine or VOCs
- No published service flow rate
- Manufacturer publishes no part number for this configuration
Two-stage system for homes under 1,500 sq. ft. pairing a 10 micron carbon taste filter with the CitraCharge conditioning cartridge. NuvoH2O states the carbon stage removes chlorine, VOCs and inorganic chemicals. The housing is 10.72 inches wide by 22.55 inches tall, weighs 12 lbs assembled, and both cartridges change at roughly six months or 20,000 gallons.
