In r/vandwellers a buyer of the 3,000 W model with the UPS transfer switch had just installed it and found the build quality met expectations, before running any load through it (June 2025). In r/SolarDIY a shopper weighing the line against Victron asked owners for experience after reading Amazon reviews that, in the shopper's words, suggested the transfer switch was 'kinda junk' and Renogy's support slow (June 2026).

On the Lance Owners of America forum a travel-trailer owner who installed the 2,000 W model found its transfer switch passes shore power only while the inverter is switched on, leaving about 1 A of standby draw running around the clock, and added an external transfer switch; another member reported that Renogy support confirmed the inverter must be on and quoted a no-load draw under 1 A (May to June 2025). On the Grand Design owners' forum MyGrandRV, a 2,000 W owner's unit kept drawing from the battery on shore power until its output, set to 50 Hz at the factory, was changed to 60 Hz (August 2026).

Renogy is the brand of RNG International, Inc., of Ontario, California, which Dr. Yi Li founded in 2010.

It sells direct from renogy.com and its Amazon and eBay brand stores, and through Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, Camping World and Walmart's marketplace.

The Renogy RIV1210PU-126 is a 12 V pure sine wave inverter rated 1,000 W continuous (8.3 A AC at 120 V) with a 2,000 W surge for 2 seconds, from a battery input of 11.0 to 15.5 V DC and up to 105 A. Renogy's manual rates it at 92 percent maximum efficiency, 87 percent at full load, and under 12 W of power consumption at no load. A built-in 10 A transfer switch takes AC input from 90 to 140 V and passes grid power to the loads, switching to battery and back in 20 ms each way; there is no battery charger. Output runs to two AC outlets (up to 10 A each) with an integrated GFCI, a high-output AC terminal block for hardwiring, and a 5 V/2.1 A USB port, and an N-G bonding relay switches the neutral-to-ground bond. Bluetooth is built in for the Renogy app, and a wired remote connects on a 5 m (16.4 ft) RJ12 cable. It measures 15.3 x 8.1 x 3.8 in (388.5 x 205.4 x 95.3 mm), weighs 8.2 lb, has M8 DC terminals and runs from -4 °F to 113 °F. The box holds the inverter, the wired remote, the RJ12 cable, two 3 ft 4 AWG battery cables and the manual; Renogy recommends a 150 A battery fuse.
