Usability

4.2 out of 10

At 5,000 W continuous it sits on the 5,000 to 5,999 W rung for a 48 V all-in-one, so it scores 5 on capacity.

LiTime rates its inverter efficiency above 90 percent and its normal-mode no-load draw at up to 80 W, 16 W per kW of its 5,000 W rating (ECO mode up to 55 W, 11 W per kW), both on the 4 rung, so it scores 4 on efficiency.

Its spec table gives no surge figure, and the product page's 10,000 W surge is 2.0 times its continuous rating, so it scores 5 on operating range.

It has a built-in MPPT controller, a 0.01-second transfer by LiTime's product page, parallel operation of up to 6 units, an RS485 port that reads a matched battery's BMS and a 40 A AC charger, 160 A at 12 V-equivalent, but one unit puts out 120 V only, with 120/240 V split phase needing two units, and it has no Bluetooth or app, so it scores 7 on features.

No certifier directory lists this unit (Intertek, UL, CSA, LabTest, TÜV, SGS), and LiTime's page and manual name no safety listing, so it scores 2 on verification.

LiTime's product page gives it a 2-year warranty, and the warranty policy table does not list this model, so it scores 3 on warranty and support.

Reddit owners report problems more than praise with LiTime inverters. An r/OffGrid user's 12 V 3000 W inverter shut off at 1,200 W or more even with a leaf blower cooling it (April 2025), an r/SolarDIY owner's 48V 3500W inverter-charger cut out and restarted every 15 seconds charging from a generator until he lowered the charge limit to 10 A (November 2025), and an r/RVLiving owner's 3000 W inverter-charger stopped charging at 227.7 of 230 Ah, which he traced to a long extension cord (July 2025).

  • Manual's 120/240 V setup was hard to find, per one owner

On DIY Solar Forum a member who bought the 48V 5kW for about $800 first took it for a 120 V-only unit, then found the manual's 2P2 setting for 120/240 V with two units and planned to buy a second, with no results posted (October 2025). No owner report of running two units was found on the forum.
