A Full-Body Panel Rebuilt in 2026, With No Test of Either Build

The Quad is Kala's full-body panel, now one 72 by 22 inch panel with 1,155 LEDs at 660 and 850 nm on a vertical stand; until mid-2026 it was four Elite panels on one stand, and its page still mixes the two. No spectrometer reading of either build exists, so light output is not scored; Kala states 130 mW/cm2 at 6 inches. Intertek's directory lists the Quad among Kala Therapy Inc.'s ETL-listed luminaires to UL 1598, so it scores 5 on verification; FDA holds no record of it, and Kala's page shows an FDA Cleared badge. Its 1,584 square inches score 10 on coverage. The one review, of the four-Elite build, rated it 2.9 of 5. It is $4,499.99 on kalaredlight.com, sold as final sale.

PROS
  • 1,584 square inches of emitting area
  • ETL listed to UL 1598 in Intertek's directory
  • Vertical stand and remote included
  • Peaks published at 660 and 850 nm
  • 2-year warranty
CONS
  • No independent output measurement of either build
  • Rebuilt in 2026, and the page still describes four panels
  • Final sale, with no return
  • No FDA record, despite an FDA Cleared badge on the page
  • 1,200 W with no measured draw

Kala's page now describes the Quad as one panel of 1,155 LEDs at 660 and 850 nm, 72 by 22 by 2.8 inches and 75 lb in an iron shell, sold on a vertical stand with a remote, goggles and wall-mounting parts; until mid-2026 it was four Elite panels joined on one stand, 924 LEDs, and parts of the page still describe four panels. It plugs into the mains, Kala states 130 mW/cm2 at 6 inches and 1,200 W, and its guidance is 10 to 20 minutes. A Roller Stand version is $4,208.87. Kala's warranty covers it for 2 years, and Kala sells it as final sale.

Brand-level

Kala is the trading name of Kala Therapy Inc. of Etobicoke, Ontario, founded in 2019 by Cam Stajer, who appeared on CBC's Dragons' Den with co-founder Landon Schiller; the BBB gives its incorporation as March 2021, and its filings give addresses in Etobicoke, Mississauga and Toronto. FDA records name Shenzhen Kaiyan Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. as the maker of Kala's face mask, wand, Mini 2.0, neck device, hat and wrap, and list the Pro and Elite panels under the registration of Shenzhen Saidi Light Therapy Technology. Kala sells from kalaredlight.com, on Amazon US through its own store and resellers, and on Costco.com, which carries the Pro and Elite panels. Its Trustpilot profile for kalaredlight.com reads 3.1 from 2 reviews, one two-star and one one-star, unclaimed and never invited. The BBB rates Kala Therapy Inc. F, not accredited, with 51 complaints in three years, mostly about products and deliveries and 5 of them unanswered, and 1.29 from 17 customer reviews. Health Canada lists a Type II recall of one lot of the face mask in June 2025 because its user manual was unclear. Kala pays affiliates through Superfiliate and its creators' links give 15 percent off, so most write-ups of its devices carry a Kala code or link, and each is named with its tie where it is used. Kala's own review widget and channels, its ambassadors and its Team Canada athletes count in no pool, nor does kalaredlighttherapyreviews.ca, a single-brand affiliate site; Daryl Stubbs's Kala reviews count nowhere because his sites and channel carry links for Rouge, PlatinumLED and Bon Charge. Several Reddit commenters accused pro-Kala accounts of being company-linked, and those comments are not used. Amazon shows its review text only after sign-in, so the Amazon pools read star ratings alone, with no review text and no Vine count. Every Kala device carries a 2-year limited warranty; returns are taken within 30 days less a $15 restocking fee, at the buyer's shipping cost, and the returns page lists the mask, neck device, wand, wrap, hat and Quad as final sale although every product page advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee. On this row all five pools are populated: the web reads the Quad's earlier four-Elite build, Reddit reads Kala's Pro and Elite owners, YouTube and the retailer pool read the Elite, and Amazon reads the Pro.
