The Hooga Torch is a pen-shaped light 8 in long with its screw-on precision tip and 1.25 in wide, weighing 5 oz, in an aluminium body according to its manual. Its five 3 W LEDs cover blue (415 nm in the manual, 460 nm on parts of the page), 630, 660, 850 and 940 nm. Hooga gives 120 mW/cm2 at the surface on the page, while the manual gives 217 at the surface and 51 at 3 in, with 15 W of rated power and 5 W of actual output. A built-in rechargeable 18650 cell powers it, a 3-minute timer ends each session, and holding the button switches on pulse modes. The $139 price includes goggles, a cleaning cloth and the precision tip.

Three Reddit threads discuss the Torch, and the owner reports are split. In July 2025 an r/redlighttherapy owner who also has a Hooga ULTRA750 panel said the Torch arrived dead out of the box, that calling customer service got nowhere, and that the unit went back; another owner replied in August 2025 that theirs works. In April 2024 a buyer posted meter photos (since deleted, instrument not named) and asked whether the near-infrared reading was too weak to be useful, and the thread never settled it. Price is the other theme: two commenters pointed to look-alike torches with the same screw-on tip for about $35 to $80, one of them calling the Hooga a rebadged generic design.

One independent written review covers the Torch. Marco Gentile (updated September 2026), who earns commission through a Hooga link that applies a 12 percent discount and carries codes for most rival brands, rated it 3 out of 5 and third of the four torches he ranks, behind LifePro and Therasage. He praised the screw-on precision tip and the accessory set, with case, glasses and cleaning cloth, and described single-button switching between red, blue, near-infrared or all three, with a 10 Hz pulse and a 3-minute shut-off but no intensity setting. He marked it down for the one-year warranty and a price he called not particularly low. His 120 mW/cm2 figure is Hooga's specification; he published no measurement of his own.

Light Therapy Insiders' Alex Fergus has covered Hooga in more than ten videos since 2022. Every description carries his Hooga link with a 10 to 12 percent discount, Hooga sent the units free, and at least five videos from March 2024 on carry YouTube's paid-promotion label. His July 2026 company review (about 4,700 views) found the build sound for the price and called Hooga his usual budget recommendation. He faulted email-only support, solar-meter power figures, the lack of lab reports and costly international shipping, and said Hooga has at times switched off his commissions. His April 2026 series comparison put the HG300, PRO300 and ULTRA360 at about 50 to 60 mW/cm2. The few other channels covering Hooga post short Amazon-affiliate overviews.

The Torch's Amazon US listing, sold by Hooga Health and first listed in April 2022, shows 3.9 stars from 30 ratings, and the file splits at both ends: 64 percent five-star against 16 percent one-star, with 24 percent at one or two stars. It is a single listing with no size or style selector, so the file belongs to this model; a newer Hooga Torch listing has no ratings and shows as unavailable. Amazon's summary tags quality control in 7 reviews, 5 positive and 2 negative, and one reviewer said the unit arrived dead and the replacement charged but still would not turn on.

Hooga is the trading name of Commerce Trading Group, LLC of New Berlin, Wisconsin, which sells direct from hoogahealth.com and through its own Amazon store; no major US retailer carries a Hooga device, so the retailer pool is empty at every level. Its Trustpilot profile reads 4.5 from 75 reviews, 80 percent five-star against 12 percent one-star. Hooga claimed the profile in January 2026 and has invited reviews since: seven of the 14 reviews written before the claim are one-star, against two of the 58 written since, and Hooga has answered every negative review. The recurring complaints there are return shipping charged to the buyer even on faulty units, pre-orders charged weeks before shipping, and support that answers first with an AI agent. The BBB rates Hooga B+ without accreditation, on a file opened in April 2026 with one complaint, resolved, and no Hooga device has been recalled.
