Usability
Ultrafiltration at 0.1 micron is a real technology rather than a marketing word: hollow fibre membranes at that pore size mechanically exclude bacteria and cysts while leaving dissolved minerals in the water, which is a genuinely different proposition from a carbon block. Putting it in a countertop unit that needs neither an outlet nor a plumbing connection makes it the obvious answer for a rental, a dorm or anywhere a permanent installation is not possible. Against the other two Dash models it costs forty to fifty dollars more and the ultrafiltration stage is worth that gap. The limits are ordinary countertop limits: 800 gallons a year is roughly two gallons a day, the unit occupies counter space next to the sink, and nothing dissolved comes out, so lead beyond what the carbon stage adsorbs, fluoride, nitrates and TDS all pass through. Aquasure holds no certification on this or any other finished system, and the review pool on it is two entries on the company's own page.

The Aquasure Dash AS-D200UF is a countertop drinking water system running a multi-stage ultrafiltration process through 0.1 micron hollow fibre membranes behind a radial flow sediment stage. It needs no power and no plumbing modification, and a built-in LED indicator tracks filter life. Aquasure rates the cartridge set at 800 gallons with an annual replacement, and the unit is sold in piano white and piano black at the same price.
