The wand is the reason to buy this rather than the filtration, which is identical to the $119.99 filter-only version. Its strongest attribute is fit to a specific job: seated showering, rinsing a shower down, washing a dog, none of which a fixed head does well, and white saves $10 over chrome for the same hardware. Its weakest is that $50 buys hardware and no filtration improvement whatever, on the same 10,000 gallon cartridge and the same one-year warranty. The filter body is the one independently tested, and it measured chlorine down 57 percent against a stated category expectation of 80 percent minimum, hardness essentially unmoved, and zinc rising above the laboratory's health guideline. It is also not certified for chlorine reduction — the 90-percent-plus claim is Aquasana's own testing. The trade is a well-built, cheap-to-run shower filter whose measured chlorine performance is well short of what its own category manages.
- Handheld wand suits seated showering, rinsing down and washing pets
- Independently tested to NSF/ANSI Standard 177 and media certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61
- Highest design score of ten shower filters in independent testing
- Available in chrome or white, with white $10 cheaper for the same hardware
- DIY install in minutes on a standard 1/2 inch connection
- $50 more than the filter-only version for hardware, not filtration
- Independent testing measured chlorine down 57%, against a stated category expectation of 80% minimum
- Not certified for chlorine reduction; the 90%-plus figure is Aquasana's own testing
- Chlorine only — no reduction claim for lead, PFAS or chloramines
- 10,000 gallons or six months, so two cartridges a year
This is the Aquasana shower filter supplied with a massaging handheld wand instead of a fixed head, for rinsing, washing pets or anyone who needs to shower seated. It comes in chrome at $169.99 and white at $159.99; the two are identical apart from finish.
Filtration is the same across the range: independently tested to NSF/ANSI Standard 177 to reduce over 90% of chlorine for 10,000 gallons or up to six months, with coconut shell carbon and patented copper-zinc KDF media certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61.
The wand attaches to the same standard 1/2 inch shower connection and the whole system installs without a plumber.
