Pairing high-output UV with integrated pre-filtration on one bracket is the right engineering answer for a well, because UV dose collapses when turbidity blocks the lamp and a bare chamber cannot protect itself. At 18 GPM and 48 watts this is the only Aquasure UV product with enough capacity for a large house, and the multi-stage arrangement is what separates it from bolting the 12 GPM unit behind a cartridge filter. The price is the objection: a thousand dollars buys a certified UV system from several competitors, and this one carries no NSF/ANSI 55 listing at all, which is the standard written specifically to verify that a UV system delivers its claimed dose.
