The catch is the flow-rate ceiling: the filtration figure assumes about 2.5 GPM, so pairing it with a high-flow head quietly reduces performance in a way nothing on the unit will tell you. Chlorine only — this does nothing for lead or PFAS.

This is the Aquasana shower filter supplied on its own, to fit between your shower arm and the shower head you already own. It is the cheapest way into the range and the right one if you like your current head.
The filter is independently tested to NSF/ANSI Standard 177 to reduce over 90% of chlorine for 10,000 gallons or up to six months. The media is a combination of coconut shell carbon and patented copper-zinc KDF, itself NSF/ANSI tested and certified to Standard 61, with an upflow design that keeps contact time high without dropping pressure.
It fits standard 1/2 inch shower connections and works with heads up to 4.5 inches across at around 2.5 GPM. Above that flow rate the contact time falls and filtration degrades. Installation takes minutes and needs no plumber.
