Usability
HealthShield is the only Aquasana whole house system whose contaminant claims are certified rather than asserted, and NSF/ANSI 53 and 401 coverage including PFAS is genuinely rare at point of entry. What it costs you is everything the Rhino line is good at: capacity drops from 1,000,000 gallons to 165,000, the warranty from 10 years to 2, and rated flow to 5.7 GPM. Roughly every two years you buy another tank. Whether that is worth it depends on whether your water actually contains what this system is certified to remove.

HealthShield is Aquasana's newest whole house platform and the only one in the range with certified reduction claims beyond chlorine. It is WQA tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standards 53 and 401 and CSA B483.1, covering up to 99.9% reduction across 61 contaminants including PFOA, PFOS, PFNA, PFHxS and PFHpA, plus VOCs, pharmaceuticals, chlorine and chloramines.
The tradeoff is capacity. Where a Rhino tank runs 1,000,000 gallons or ten years, HealthShield is rated for 165,000 gallons or roughly two years. A touchscreen flow meter tracks remaining capacity and signals when service is due, and Aquasana designs the tank change to be done without a plumber.
Rated flow is 5.7 GPM with an 11.2 GPM peak, the lowest rated flow in the whole house range. The warranty is 2 years rather than the Rhino line's 10.
