Aquasure Premier Advanced 75 GPD vs Express Water RO5DX

only the Aquasure Premier Advanced 75 GPD: Not certified; only the Express Water RO5DX: NSF/ANSI 58, NSF/ANSI 372.

  Aquasure Premier Advanced 75 GPD

  • The certification picture needs stating carefully: Aquasure's only NSF listing anywhere covers two RO membrane part numbers under NSF/ANSI 58 for material and structural integrity requirements only, which verifies that the membrane does not leach and holds pressure, not that it removes anything.
  • Nothing here is certified for contaminant reduction performance, so the 99 percent figure in Aquasure's copy is a manufacturer claim with no test report behind it.

  Express Water RO5DX

  • Its strongest asset is evidence: NSF lists it under Express Water Inc. for NSF/ANSI 58 TDS reduction at 12.22 GPD rated production, and it also meets the lead-free content requirement, which almost nothing else in this catalogue can claim.
  • Its weakest is that the certified scope stops at TDS while the marketing runs to 99.99 percent of 158 impurities, none of which is on the listing.

  • Production is slow by 2026 standards at 50 GPD with a 1:1 to 3:1 drain ratio, and the pressurised tank eats most of an under-sink cabinet.

  • Two r/WaterTreatment and r/HomeMaintenance threads cover this exact system.
  • One owner reports installing the Premier and measuring 420 ppm TDS at the RO faucet, falling to about 360, which is a poor rejection figure and drew a run of diagnostic replies.
  • The second describes the Flowlok leak-detection disc deploying during a filter change when a drain-line restrictor fitting leaked, which reads as the safety feature working rather than a defect.
  • Beyond those, Aquasure discussion in the subreddit is about the softeners, and the general view of budget under-sink RO there is sceptical about wastewater and mineral removal rather than about this brand.

  • Product. r/WaterTreatment names the RO5DX directly for taste and value, and one owner reports incoming TDS of 600-800 falling to the low teens through it.
  • The recurring complaints are mechanical rather than filtration: O-rings weeping at the housings, a faucet spigot leaking on a system inherited at two years old, and an install repeatedly described as more involved than rivals. r/Homebrewing is the dissenting thread, with commenters calling the output unpleasant to taste.

  • WaterFilterGuru bench-tested this model with Tap Score lab analysis and scored it 8.13 overall - 8.40 on health-related contaminants, 8.50 on aesthetic - rating component quality outstanding and certification exceptional, while marking setup weak and criticising the pure-to-drain ratio and recovery rate.

  • IrixGuy's Adventure Channel, 98,800 subscribers, has two independent owner reviews of the Premier RO - one after several months at 6,100 views and a several-years follow-up - and a separate third-party self-install walkthrough covers the same 4-stage system.
  • None names a specific capacity, so this is the Premier line rather than this model.
  • The under-sink RO roundups that bench-test at this price point still do not include Aquasure, so there is owner evidence but no independent testing.
  • Brand-level coverage is the Harmony softeners: DIY Homestead Projects at roughly 115,000 views, NKP Home Improvement at roughly 94,000, geminidrums at 15,000 on the fine mesh and IrixGuy's two-year owner review at 13,000.
