The only Express Water RO with an NSF listing, and that listing covers TDS reduction alone.

Usability
The RO5DX suits a municipal-water household that wants verified reverse osmosis at the bottom of the price band and is willing to spend an afternoon on the install. Its strongest asset is evidence: NSF lists it under Express Water Inc. for NSF/ANSI 58 TDS reduction at 12.22 GPD rated production, and it also meets the lead-free content requirement, which almost nothing else in this catalogue can claim. Its weakest is that the certified scope stops at TDS while the marketing runs to 99.99 percent of 158 impurities, none of which is on the listing. Production is slow by 2026 standards at 50 GPD with a 1:1 to 3:1 drain ratio, and the pressurised tank eats most of an under-sink cabinet. What the buyer trades away is speed and cabinet space in return for a system whose core claim someone else has actually checked.
- Listed by NSF under NSF/ANSI 58 for TDS reduction, verifiable in the public database
- Meets the lead-free content requirement of the US Safe Drinking Water Act
- Ships with a spare pre and post filter set covering the first six months
- Standard 10 inch cartridge sizes, so replacements are not proprietary
- Leak-detection pad shuts off the feed line automatically
- Independently bench-tested at 8.13 overall by WaterFilterGuru
- Certification covers TDS reduction only - lead, fluoride, arsenic and PFAS claims rest on the membrane and the brand's own lab data
- 50 GPD is slow against 400-600 GPD tankless systems at similar money
- Discharges one to three gallons to drain for every gallon produced
- 4-gallon tank plus five housings needs most of a sink cabinet
- Warranty is one year, against three to five from several direct competitors
- Needs 40-80 PSI; below that a booster pump is an extra purchase
The RO5DX is Express Water's base five-stage under-sink reverse osmosis system: sediment, granular activated carbon, carbon block, a 50 GPD membrane and a coconut-shell post filter, feeding a 4-gallon tank that holds roughly 3.2 gallons of usable water. It ships with a deluxe chrome faucet, a leak-detection pad that shuts the feed off on contact with moisture, and a spare pre and post filter set covering the first six months. It is one of only two Express Water models that appear in NSF's certification database.
