Usability
Nitrate is a narrow problem with a narrow solution, and this is it. It matters mainly for wells near agricultural land, where fertiliser runoff pushes nitrate above the 10 mg/L limit, and it matters most in households with infants, for whom elevated nitrate is a documented risk rather than a theoretical one. Nothing else in this catalogue addresses it: carbon does not remove nitrate, standard softening resin does not either, and only whole-house RO offers an alternative at several times the price. Nitrate-selective resin is the proportionate answer. Buy it on the strength of a laboratory nitrate result, not a hunch, and be aware that a nitrate system does not soften, so hardness needs separate treatment.
