The RO500AK answers the main complaint about reverse osmosis, that stripped water tastes flat, by adding an alkaline remineralization stage after the membrane, while keeping the tankless 500 GPD flow and 2:1 efficiency of the RO500. As with the rest of the line, NSF/ANSI 58 certification covers TDS reduction only, so the broader contaminant figures are manufacturer claims.

The iSpring RO500AK is the alkaline version of iSpring's 500 GPD tankless RO system. Water passes through a 2-in-1 composite sediment and carbon block stage, an RO membrane, and a carbon alkaline remineralization stage that adds minerals back after the membrane strips them, addressing the flat taste common to reverse osmosis water.
It is tankless and pump-driven, delivering 500 GPD on demand at roughly a 2:1 pure-to-drain ratio. The system is NSF/ANSI 58 certified for TDS reduction; the manufacturer separately claims reduction of lead, fluoride, arsenic, chlorine and PFAS, which are manufacturer figures rather than certified reductions.
The RO500AK is the same core unit as the RO500, with the alkaline stage added. It requires electricity and is intended for municipal tap water.
