Cleared and Safety-Classified, Covered for One Year

The HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask is a flexible silicone LED mask at 630 and 830 nm, run from a corded battery controller for 10- or 20-minute sessions. It is the best-verified device HigherDOSE sells: 510(k) K241933, filed by its maker Shenzhen Kaiyan Medical Equipment, describes this model (MK66-L) at the same two wavelengths, and Intertek's directory lists the MK66-L as ETL Classified to the ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 medical safety standard, so it scores 9 on verification. HigherDOSE rates its output at 50 mW/cm2 but publishes no measurement; Light Therapy Insiders, which received it free and sells it under a HigherDOSE code, calculated a dose of about 15.6 J/cm2 per 10-minute session without publishing an irradiance reading, so light output is not scored. Its weakest point is the warranty: 1 year, against 2 on the Shark CryoGlow and CurrentBody's masks. Owners on Reddit, Sephora and Amazon most often report the cable between mask and controller failing within months; most of those reports date from 2022 to 2024, and Costco's 2026 file describes controller faults instead. It is $349 on higherdose.com, $319 on Amazon and $249.99 at Costco, and the 120-day guarantee applies only to higherdose.com orders.

Brand-level

HigherDOSE is the brand of HigherDOSE LLC of New York, which gives 42 Broadway as its address on its warranties; it began in 2016 as an infrared sauna studio and sells its devices through higherdose.com, its own Amazon store, Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta, Costco, Bluemercury, Dermstore and Revolve. HigherDOSE holds 3.9 from 132 Trustpilot reviews on higherdose.com, split 66 percent five-star against 23 percent one-star, with 85 posted in the last 12 months; the profile was claimed in January 2025, Trustpilot marks the company as asking customers for reviews, and it replies to 94 percent of negative reviews, typically within a week. Its 2025-2026 one- and two-star reviews centre on sauna blankets and PEMF mats that failed near or after the one-year warranty, slow orders and chat-only support, with one August 2026 report of a light mask that stopped holding a charge inside a year. BBB lists HigherDose LLC with an F grade and no accreditation, with 13 complaints in three years, about a PEMF mat replacement that never shipped, a medical-necessity letter issued for the wrong product and a delivery; SmartCustomer holds no reviews of higherdose.com. FDA's recall database holds no HigherDOSE entry, and its adverse-event database holds two reports of one April 2026 event, filed by HigherDOSE and by its maker, in which a buyer of the MK66-L face mask reported a skin reaction after two uses; the cause was still under investigation in the filing. The one federal suit on record, Bunting v. Higherdose LLC (E.D.N.Y. 2023), concerned the accessibility of its website and closed in August 2023. HigherDOSE runs free-product review events, and Sephora flags or discloses 74 of 162 reviews on the face mask, 25 of 33 on the Neck Enhancer and 66 of 74 on the Red Light Hat as free-product reviews, while Nordstrom's 2026 reviews of its devices carry Nordstrom's incentivized-review label; the review widget on higherdose.com counts in no pool. Devices bought on higherdose.com carry a 120-day money-back guarantee with a prepaid return label, Amazon orders 45 days, and every HigherDOSE light device a 1-year limited warranty. On this row all five pools are populated, and the retailer pool rests on Sephora's and Costco's own files.
