Heated rack battery, indoors and no Bluetooth

  • What it is: a 48 V, 5.12 kWh self-heating rack battery that reports to the inverter over CAN or RS485, for indoor home and off-grid storage
  • The trade-off: cold-weather charging and wide inverter support, but an indoor-only case, no Bluetooth and recommended currents half the maximum
  • Not checked: which of Epoch's two published remedy schedules covers this battery
  • Fit: 3U in a 19-inch rack, or stack, wall and floor kits sold separately
  • Look elsewhere for: outdoor or mobile installs, or phone monitoring without an inverter

Strengths

  • Charges in an unheated space with its own heater
  • Talks to many inverter brands over CAN or RS485
  • Grows into a large parallel bank
  • Standard rack format
  • Usable energy published alongside nominal

Drawbacks

  • No Bluetooth or app on the battery
  • Indoor-only IP20 case
  • Parallel only: never in series
  • Recommended currents half the maximum
  • Cycle rating at partial depth to a low end point
  • Warranty remedy drops to a discount after the early years
