The Epoch C12460A is the 12V 460Ah V2 Elite, a 12.8 V, 460 Ah LiFePO4 deep-cycle battery storing 5,888 Wh in prismatic 230 Ah cells wired 4S2P. It is rated 230 A continuous charge and discharge (0.5C), with 500 A for 30 seconds, 1,300 A for 1 second and up to 400 A of charge for 5 seconds.

A CAN port at 500 kbit/s talks to a Victron GX device, which with DVCC lets the battery set charger limits; eight DIP switches set each battery's role in a bank.

Below 0°C the BMS holds off charging while a heater, powered by the charge source, warms the cells; Epoch says it charges from −30°C ambient and discharges to −20°C. Bluetooth 4.0 runs through the included battery gauge to the Epoch Li-Ion app, which also installs firmware updates.

It measures 20.86 x 8.65 x 12.06 in, weighs 97 lb, has M8 terminals, six M8 nuts for an optional 8D bracket, an internal 400 A fuse and an IP67 case. Up to four connect in series (51.2 V) or sixteen in parallel.

In the box are the battery, a communication harness, the Bluetooth gauge, an external power button and the manual; the mounting bracket is sold separately. Epoch rates it for 3,500+ cycles to 70 percent remaining capacity at 25°C and gives it an 11-year limited warranty.

The V2-T Elite (C12460A-A), the same battery with a user-serviceable 400 A Eaton Class T fuse, is $2,599.
