Six Wavelengths And An App, No Clearance Of Its Own

The Series 3 is CurrentBody's newest mask, and the change from Series 2 is mostly in the controller: 750 LEDs instead of 236, three extra colours (blue, green and yellow), and an app that sets presets or chooses the wavelength by LED. CurrentBody sells it as FDA cleared, but no 510(k) names this model: the company's own listing files it under K260715, a clearance for its 566-LED Multi Light mask (model MK-110D), so it scores at the floor on verification. No irradiance is published and none has been measured independently. The shell is the same soft silicone as Series 2, with a chin strap and eye inserts, and one early tester describes it as nearly identical to Series 2 to wear. The warranty is two years, with a 30-day return window for unopened devices. At $569.99 it costs $100 more than Series 2, which stays on sale, and the buyer paying the difference is paying for colours and control rather than a published increase in output.

PROS
  • Six published peaks: 415, 532, 590, 633, 830 and 1072 nm
  • 750 LEDs, against 236 on Series 2
  • Four presets plus app control that chooses the wavelength by LED
  • Flexible silicone shell with chin strap and eye inserts
  • Rechargeable over USB-C; hands-free 10-minute sessions
CONS
  • Sold as FDA cleared; no 510(k) names this model, and the listing cites a clearance for a different 566-LED mask
  • No irradiance published and none measured independently
  • $100 more than Series 2 for the same shell
  • Returns only for unopened devices; a fault after six months gets store credit or a replacement, not a refund
  • Early testers report an extra app step before each session and a mouth opening too small to drink through

The Series 3 is a flexible silicone face mask with a chin strap and 750 LEDs across six wavelengths: 415 nm blue, 532 nm green, 590 nm yellow, 633 nm red, 830 nm near-infrared and 1072 nm deep near-infrared. A Bluetooth controller pairs with the CurrentBody app, which runs four preset modes or custom settings that choose the wavelength by LED. Sessions are 10 minutes, and it charges over USB-C.

CurrentBody's Trustpilot profile for currentbody.us reads 4.4 from 7,523 reviews, 2,314 of them in the past twelve months, and the company invites customers to leave them. The recurring complaints there are devices that fail inside a year, slow customer service and costly returns, and SmartCustomer (formerly Sitejabber) rates the company 1.9 from 126. On Amazon US the buy box on CurrentBody's listings often goes to third-party sellers rather than to its parent company, The Beauty Tech Group.
