Sold as Cleared, Listed Under Another Mask's Filing

The MitoGLOW is a hover-style face mask with four wavelengths and five modes at $499, holding its LEDs off the skin rather than on it. Mito sells it as FDA 510(k) cleared, but the registration lists it as model MJ-252 from Shenzhen Kaiyan Medical Equipment under K221775, a Light Tree Ventures Europe clearance for other masks at 630 and 830 nm or 415, 630 and 830 nm, so the filing does not describe this mask. Light Therapy Insiders, which was sent the mask free and earns a commission on Mito, scored it 78 of 100 but measured 3.4 J/cm2 over the default 10-minute session, about 5.7 mW/cm2, and read the blue channel at 416 nm rather than the listed 465. Three of four owners on Reddit report pressure and marks around the eyes. The shell and cushion materials are named, and it carries a 1-year warranty. It suits a buyer who wants a no-contact mask with blue and amber modes and accepts low measured output.

PROS
  • Four published peaks, five modes
  • No-contact hover fit with a see-through eye insert
  • ABS, polycarbonate and silicone construction named
  • 60 to 70 minutes per charge
  • 60-day return with no restocking fee
CONS
  • Measured 3.4 J/cm2 per 10-minute session, about 5.7 mW/cm2
  • K221775 describes other masks, not this one
  • Blue measured at 416 nm, not the listed 465
  • Pressure and marks around the eyes, per three owners
  • 1-year warranty; wired controller, not cordless

The MitoGLOW is Mito's LED face mask: a rigid ABS and polycarbonate shell with a silicone eye cushion that holds 266 four-chip LED packages off the skin, at 465, 590, 630 and 830 nm across five modes. Sessions run 5 to 10 minutes from a wired controller whose 5,200 mAh battery lasts 60 to 70 minutes. Fold-out modules extend it over the chin.

Mito Red Light, LLC of Scottsdale, Arizona sells direct from mitoredlight.com, and on Amazon only its 2.0 panels. Its Trustpilot profile reads 4.4 from 1,076 reviews, which Mito invites, split 76 percent five-star against 9 percent one-star, and it replies to 99 percent of negative reviews; the BBB rates it A and has accredited it since September 2021. No US retailer publishes its own reviews of a Mito device: Best Buy's marketplace listings, sold under Mito's trade name MRL Horizons LLC, carry ratings syndicated from mitoredlight.com, so the retailer pool is empty at every level. Mito's one recall, of the discontinued Mito Mobile Super for a battery fire risk, does not cover this device.
