The Series 2 is the mask most CurrentBody owners have, and on Amazon it is also the most-rated at 4.1 from 698, though the pool splits 71 percent five-star against 15 percent one-star. Light Therapy Insiders, which earns a commission on CurrentBody sales, measured 18.5 mW/cm2 with a spectrometer against the 30 CurrentBody states, which is 38 percent short. The 510(k) that carries its name, K250966, describes a model MK-90H with 110 LEDs each at 633 and 830 nm and no 1072 nm channel; the mask on sale adds 16 LEDs at 1072 nm, so the filing does not describe it and it scores at the floor on verification. The fit is the soft liquid-silicone shell with a chin strap, and the recurring owner complaint is light that is painfully bright around the eyes even with the inserts in. Sessions are one fixed 10-minute programme, and the warranty is two years with a 30-day return window for unopened devices. At $469.99 it is $100 below Series 3, which keeps the same shell and adds colours and app control.
- Three published peaks: 633, 830 and 1072 nm
- Independent spectrometer reading on record, 18.5 mW/cm2
- Liquid-silicone shell with chin strap for jawline coverage
- Hands-free 10-minute sessions from a clip-on rechargeable controller
- Most-rated CurrentBody device on Amazon US, 4.1 from 698
- $100 less than Series 3
- Measured at 18.5 mW/cm2 against a stated 30, 38 percent short
- Its 510(k), K250966, describes 633 and 830 nm LEDs only; the 16 LEDs at 1072 nm on sale are not in it
- Owners report light painfully bright around the eyes even with the inserts
- One fixed programme, no battery indicator
- Opened masks are refused for return; a fault after six months gets store credit or a replacement
The Series 2 is a flexible liquid-silicone face mask with a chin strap and 236 LEDs: 110 at 633 nm red, 110 at 830 nm near-infrared and 16 at 1072 nm deep near-infrared. It runs one fixed 10-minute session from a clip-on rechargeable controller and comes with eye inserts. CurrentBody states 30 mW/cm2; an independent spectrometer reading put it at 18.5.
