The three configurations are a real decision rather than a cosmetic one: the single is the fluoride cartridge alone at 161 dollars, the double adds the SMART redox and carbon stage at 201, and the triple adds a carbon block at 233. Anyone buying this for fluoride and nothing else can take the single; anyone on chlorinated municipal water should start at the double, because the fluoride media does not handle chlorine or chloramine. Crystal Quest is specific about the fluoride chemistry, naming calcium charcoal GAC with aluminium oxide on request and quoting 4,500 ppm capacity, and it publishes connection size, pressure range and temperature range, which most sellers in this bracket do not. Maximum flow is 0.5 GPM, so it fills a glass rather than a pot. No configuration carries any finished-system certification, so the fluoride performance rests entirely on the manufacturer number.
