About nine owner reports on the AC180 in r/bluetti from 2024 to 2026 describe faults: units found dead after months of storage (one at seven months, March 2025), a charge reading that jumped from 3 percent to 100 (April 2025), a unit shutting down at 50 percent, a dead display and a burning smell from the fan area on a new unit. One owner's sump pump lost power when ECO mode switched off the AC output after four hours without load (September 2024), and others report a loud fan in silent charging and a clicking noise. One owner of both the AC180 and the Elite 100 V2 prefers the newer model.

OutdoorGearLab, which buys its test units and earns Amazon commission, scored it 66 (January 2026), drawing 950 Wh on AC, 82 percent of rated, and charging it in 1.3 hours, and faulted its weight for the capacity and a noisy fan. PCWorld, which earns affiliate commission, drew 1,007 Wh at a 200 W load, 87 percent, calling its AC efficiency class-leading and its DC efficiency mediocre (July 2023). StorageReview drew 1,030 Wh at a 350 W load and needed 1,360 Wh from the wall to refill it.
