Usability
Eighty dollars for a countertop carbon block is squarely in pitcher-filter territory on price and comfortably ahead of it on performance: a 0.5 micron block treated with Microban does more for chlorine, taste and odour than any gravity pitcher, filters far faster, and lasts 800 gallons against the fifty or so a pitcher cartridge manages. Aquasure's own comparison against a Brita puts the cost per gallon roughly three times lower, and that arithmetic holds up. What it is not is a treatment system. Carbon block at 0.5 micron addresses aesthetics and some particulate matter, and it leaves dissolved solids, fluoride, nitrates and hardness untouched, which is the honest ceiling for this class of product regardless of who makes it. The ultrafiltration model fifty dollars up adds real membrane filtration and is the better buy for anyone with a microbiological concern. Nothing in the Dash range carries any certification.

The Aquasure Dash AS-D100MCB is the entry countertop drinking water system, running a 0.5 micron Microban-treated carbon block behind a radial flow sediment stage. It requires no power and no plumbing modification and carries the same LED filter indicator as the rest of the Dash range. Aquasure rates the cartridge at 800 gallons with an annual replacement, and the unit is sold in piano white and piano black at the same price.
