Aquasure Dash Micro-Ceramic Countertop Water Filter
Ceramic outer layer over a carbon core, ten dollars above the plain carbon block Dash.

Usability
Wrapping a ceramic layer around a carbon core is a sensible arrangement for the money: the ceramic takes the particulate and biological load mechanically, so the carbon behind it is not fouled by sediment and spends its capacity on chlorine and taste. Ten dollars over the plain carbon Dash is a small premium for that, and it makes this the better choice on any supply with visible particulate or on well water where a purely adsorptive filter is out of its depth. Ceramic elements are also usually brushable, which extends practical life beyond the rated 800 gallons, though Aquasure does not state whether this one is. It still removes nothing dissolved, so fluoride, nitrates, TDS and hardness pass through exactly as they do on the carbon model. Between the three Dash units, this sits sensibly in the middle: better than the carbon block on particulate, short of the ultrafiltration model on anything microbiological. No Aquasure finished system carries certification of any kind.
- Ceramic outer layer takes particulate load mechanically, protecting the carbon core behind it
- Better suited to visibly particulate or well water than the plain carbon block model
- Only ten dollars over the entry Dash
- No power supply and no plumbing modification required
- Three year warranty and an 800 gallon annual cartridge cycle
- No certification on this or any Aquasure finished system
- Removes nothing dissolved: fluoride, nitrates, TDS and hardness pass through
- Aquasure does not state whether the ceramic element can be brushed and reused
- 800 gallons a year is roughly two gallons a day
- The ultrafiltration model at 0.1 micron is the better choice for anything microbiological
- No independent review pool of any kind
The Aquasure Dash AS-D100CER is the countertop drinking water system fitted with a 0.5 micron micro-ceramic carbon block cartridge in place of the plain carbon block. The ceramic outer layer handles particulate and biological matter mechanically before water reaches the carbon core. It requires no power and no plumbing modification, carries the same LED indicator as the rest of the range, and is rated at 800 gallons with an annual cartridge change.
