Usability
The RO-Hi solves a specific irritation with tank reverse osmosis, which is how long a quarter-inch line takes to fill a pitcher. Its strongest attribute is the three-eighths inch output path and matched faucet, which roughly doubles dispensing speed without changing the production rate. Its weakest is that nothing else changes: the membrane is the same 90 GPD unit as the RO-90, so the tank refills at exactly the same rate and the drain ratio is unaffected. Certification is the same WQA Gold Seal to NSF/ANSI 58 covering TDS reduction. At 103 dollars over the RO-90 the buyer is paying for the time between opening the tap and filling a glass, which matters in a busy kitchen and not at all in a quiet one.

The APEC Water Systems RO-Hi is a five-stage 90 gallon per day under-sink reverse osmosis system fitted with three-eighths inch output tubing and a matched faucet to raise dispensing speed. The membrane, pre-filters and tank are shared with the RO-90. APEC holds a WQA Gold Seal on this model certifying it to NSF/ANSI 58. A pH-enhanced version is sold as the RO-Hi-PH.
