Usability
The IRON-HYDRO-15 exists because a manganese dioxide bed sized for one bathroom will channel and short-circuit on a house drawing more, and bed volume is the only real fix. Its strongest attribute is inherited: the same published pH range, oxidation reduction potential floor and removal capacities that make the IRON-HYDRO-10 unusually honest for this category. Its weakest is the same too, since the 5 gallons per minute per cubic foot service rating is published without a bed volume for this model, so nothing in the specification tells a buyer how much more house this unit covers than the smaller one. APEC also shares one specification table across the family under a single IRON-HYDRO heading, which is why the differences between the three sizes are effectively undocumented. At 295 dollars over the 10 the buyer is paying for bed volume they cannot verify.

The APEC Water Systems IRON-HYDRO-15 is the mid-sized model in the oxidation filter range, using the same manganese dioxide media and the same published removal capacities as the IRON-HYDRO-10 in a larger bed. It is sized for wells feeding homes above the one to three bathroom band. A 20 model exists above it and was out of stock at the time of writing.
