Cleared Under Its Own Name, Heavy On The Nose

The TheraFace Mask is Therabody's original full-face mask: 648 light sources at 633, 830 and 415 nm, run as three 3-minute modes or a 9-minute preset, with vibration around the eyes and scalp. Its own 510(k), K230293, cleared for Therabody in June 2023, describes the same 648 LEDs, wavelengths and 9-minute treatment, so it scores 7 on verification. The filing gives 73 mW/cm2 red; Light Therapy Insiders, sent a free unit and paid through an affiliate link, measured about 7 J/cm2 over the red and near-infrared stages, an average near 19 mW/cm2, which scores 5 on light output. It is cordless and hands-free with nothing to assemble, but its 576 g is the complaint that runs through every pool: T3, Vogue, The Strategist and about ten Reddit owners say it presses on the nose or forehead and leaves marks. Owners also report red LEDs turning orange and units failing just past the one-year warranty. Amazon rates it 4.1 from 343 and Best Buy 4.5 from 356, with every Best Buy review read flagged for promotional consideration or a sweepstakes entry. At $649.99 it costs $270 more than Therabody's lighter 504-LED Mask Glo.

CONS
  • 576 g; presses on the nose or forehead, per T3, Vogue, The Strategist and about ten owners
  • Filing gives 73 mW/cm2 red; the measured average is near 19 mW/cm2
  • Red LEDs turning orange, per three Reddit owners
  • One-year warranty, with failures reported just past it
  • No battery indicator (WIRED)
  • $649.99, $270 more than the 504-LED Mask Glo

The TheraFace Mask is a rigid full-face LED mask whose 648 light sources are the chips of just over 200 three-chip LEDs, each carrying red at 633 nm, near-infrared at 830 nm and blue at 415 nm. It runs three 3-minute modes (red, red with near-infrared, and blue) or all three as a 9-minute preset, and small motors add optional vibration around the eyes and across the top and back of the head. Two lithium-ion batteries charge over USB-C and give about 120 minutes of light, so it is cordless in use; the box holds the mask, removable silicone eye shields and a display stand.

Therabody holds two Trustpilot profiles. The larger, under theragun.com, reads 1.8 from 1,746 reviews, split 65 percent five-star against 28 percent one-star, and its recent reviews centre on devices that stop charging or fail just past the one-year warranty, batteries that cannot be replaced and repairs refused; the smaller, under therabody.com, reads 1.6 from 70, 89 percent of them one-star, and Therabody has not invited reviews there recently. Therabody, Inc of Los Angeles has been BBB accredited since January 2026 and is rated A+, with 76 complaints closed in three years. The FDA lists one Therabody recall, of a Theragun charger in June 2026, and none of a light device. The ratings on therabody.com, Therabody's own YouTube channel and its account's replies on Reddit are Therabody's own, and no pool below counts them; Walmart's Therabody files are labelled as reviews from Therabody, and Target's reviews syndicated from Therabody are read out of its counts.
