Rich Solar is the brand of Rich Solar Inc., which says it began in 2005 and keeps its offices and warehouse in Ontario, California.

It sells with a cart at richsolar.com, through a RICH SOLAR Amazon brand store run by the seller SUNRICH ENERGY, on Walmart, and through dealers such as Outbound Power.

The Rich Solar NOVA SWITCH 3K (model RS-V3P12TS, sold as the NOVA 3K12) is a 12 V pure sine wave inverter rated 3,000 W continuous with a 6,000 W surge for 5 seconds.

It has a built-in automatic transfer switch with a 30 A relay that moves loads between shore or generator power and the battery in under 20 ms, in Normal or Fast mode. Its manual states it is an inverter only and is not intended for charging batteries.

Output is selectable at 108, 110 or 120 V AC and 50 or 60 Hz, under 5 percent total harmonic distortion, with a 91 percent peak efficiency and above 85 percent at full load per the manual.

It runs from the low-voltage cut-off to 18.0 V DC, draws 288 A at full load, and its low-voltage shutdown is adjustable from 10.5 to 12.8 V. AC input is 120 V at 80 to 140 V for full power.

It has an LCD with status LEDs, a load search mode that wakes for loads above 25 W, an ignition (ACC) input, a remote port, and RS232 and RS485 communication. AC wiring is hardwired through terminal blocks; Rich Solar's manual lists a GFCI kit and an LCD remote panel with a 25 ft cable as options sold separately.

It measures 15.4 x 12.0 x 4.1 in, weighs 17.6 lb and is rated from -40 to 160 °F. The box holds the inverter, the owner's guide with extra safety labels and a pre-installed DC ground lug. Rich Solar lists it as certified to UL 458 and FCC Part 15; its warranty page gives pure sine wave inverters 2 years, prorated.
