Usability

6.6 out of 10
  • Unlock: a dealer software unlock to 28 mph, the row keeps its shipped speed
  • Split: 47 lb bike plus 9.5 lb battery, the table does not say whether the 47 lb includes the pack
  • Searched: ACT Lab (non-NRTL) Certipedia Intertek SGS
  • Record: ACT Lab (non-NRTL), UL 2849:2022 sample test certificate, 26" ST Avenue Pro, SKU BWB-26-ST-AVE-P-BLKG, New Pedego Holdings, Inc.
  • Terms: parts and frame 5 years or 5,000 miles, battery credit steps down after a free period (12 months on older packs, 24 months on Gen2 packs bought from 1 Jun 2026), registration within 30 days and dealer service needed

Strengths

  • Strong hydraulic brakes
  • Rack and fenders come fitted
  • Good assist for hills
  • Lights and signals built in
  • Battery lifts out to charge indoors

Drawbacks

  • Battery warranty is prorated
  • Weight is not labelled in the spec table
  • Fast mode needs a dealer unlock

The PEDEGO word mark is a US registration for electric-powered bicycles held under an earlier Pedego company, and its current holder was not confirmed.

  • Pedego sells its electric bikes in the US through its own store at pedegoelectricbikes.com, where an order ships either to an authorized dealer at no charge or direct to the buyer's home by FedEx.
  • The store's terms name PEDEGO Inc., a Delaware corporation, as the seller.
  • The range covers fat tire, folding, commuter, mountain and trike models sold through a dealer network and the brand's own store.
  • The Amazon listings found are sold by third-party sellers.
  • None of Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Costco, Dick's Sporting Goods, REI, Home Depot or Lowe's sells Pedego e-bikes as the seller; Walmart carries only a Pedego basket accessory (October 2026).

The Pedego Avenue Pro is a step-thru commuter e-bike with a 48 V, 14 Ah removable battery of 672 Wh (48 V x 14 Ah) and a 750 W rear hub motor rated at 85 Nm of torque.

It has Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors, a 60 mm fork, a torque sensor and Schwalbe Big Apple 26 x 2.0 in tires with Kevlar flat protection. The table gives 47 lb for the bike and 9.5 lb for the battery, 56.5 lb together if the 47 lb excludes the pack, with a rated load of 250 lb.

A rear rack rated for 55 lb, fenders, lights with turn signals, a colour display and a throttle are fitted. The maker lists up to 56 miles of range and 20 mph on pedal assist, with a dealer unlock to 28 mph. The 28 in step-thru and classic step-over twins sell at the same $2,495.00.
