Verdict

It suits a buyer who wants 1 kWh now and the option of 4 kWh more from the same port; a buyer who never will gets the same inverter and charger in the $599 Mega 1 Lite.

In r/OUPES_info one owner's Mega 1 showed E022, low cell voltage, and would not recharge after a full discharge; OUPES shipped a new unit, while other commenters in the thread reported replacements failing and said the app sets no discharge floor (July 2026). Another owner with a Mega 1 and a Guardian 6000 said the Mega 1 holds up to regular, continuous use and sustains 2,000 W but heats up fast.

TheSolarLab, which earns commission and offers a discount code, ran 1,779 W for 27 minutes, about 79 percent, and faulted very loud fans, no light and a hard-to-read display. TheCampingNerd, which earns through affiliate links, charged it in 60 minutes and measured about 85 percent at 1,000 W (October 2024).

Cleanerwatt, in a video OUPES sponsored, ran a DeWalt chop saw and table saw on it (about 4,100 views).

Walmart no longer sells the Mega 1 separately; its reviews sit in one file with the Mega 1 Lite on item 11344470227, sold by OUPES's own Walmart store: 4.3 from 136 ratings and 55 written reviews, 71 percent five-star and 9 percent one-star. Walmart flags four of the Mega 1's late-2024 reviews as incentivized; set aside, the file reads 4.3 from 132. Owners report running refrigerators overnight, CPAP machines and RV loads and praise the fast wall charge, against units that died after a full discharge, Wi-Fi app dropouts and short runtimes on heaters.
