Chloramine is the one municipal problem that justifies paying extra for a specific media, and this is the cheapest NuvoH2O system that offers it, at 49 dollars over the taste filter build. A household on a chloraminated supply with sensitive skin or a fish tank has a real reason to choose it. What NuvoH2O does not provide is the media type, the empty bed contact time or a reduction percentage, and chloramine reduction is entirely dependent on contact time, so the claim cannot be checked. The conditioning cartridge inhibits scale without removing calcium and magnesium, so hardness readings will not move. The system carries no certifier listing, only a stated compliance with NSF/ANSI 42. The buyer gets the right media class for the problem and no way to confirm the system is sized to deliver it.
- Chloramine-specific media rather than standard carbon
- Only 49 dollars more than the taste filter configuration
- 50,000 gallon service interval on both cartridges
- Salt-free, drain-free and power-free installation
- 5-year limited warranty and 90-day return window
- Contact time and media type for the chloramine stage are not published
- No reduction percentage stated for chloramine or chlorine
- No sediment prefilter, so particulates load the chloramine cartridge
- Hardness minerals stay in the water
- No third-party certification for the system
- No published service flow rate
Two-stage system for homes over 1,500 sq. ft. pairing a chloramine filter with the CitraCharge conditioning cartridge. NuvoH2O positions the chloramine stage for municipalities using persistent disinfectants that standard carbon does not fully catch. Both cartridges change at roughly six months or 50,000 gallons on a 1-inch connected housing.
