A UL-Listed Belt, Tethered to the Wall for Now

The MitoQUAD is Mito's LED belt, four wavelengths across a 22 x 5 in treatment area that wraps a waist, knee or thigh, at $349 for the plug-in version. The $429 version with a power bank is unavailable, and Mito's own reply to a reviewer says the pack is still in testing, so for now it is used within reach of an outlet. UL lists the finished belt as applied-energy equipment, which few belts carry; there is no 510(k). No one has measured its output: Mito states 18 mW/cm2, and the belt's own spec sheet gives 13.3. Owners on Reddit call it well made with Velcro that holds, and better suited to one area than the whole body. The warranty is 1 year, replacement only.

PROS
  • UL listing on the finished belt
  • Four published peaks with per-wavelength chip counts
  • Five intensity levels on a wired remote
  • Wraps a waist, knee or thigh hands-free
  • 60-day return with no restocking fee
CONS
  • Plug-in only; the battery version is unavailable
  • No output measurement; 18 on the page against 13.3 mW/cm2 on the spec sheet
  • Treatment area is 110 sq in of a 350 sq in belt
  • 1-year warranty, replacement only
  • No wrap material published

The MitoQUAD is a 50 x 7 in wrap-around belt with a 22 x 5 in treatment area of 405 three-chip LEDs at 630, 660, 810 and 850 nm, two-thirds near-infrared. It has five intensity levels on a wired remote and runs from mains power; the $429 version with a 15,000 mAh power bank is unavailable. Mito states 18 mW/cm2 at the skin.

Mito Red Light, LLC of Scottsdale, Arizona sells direct from mitoredlight.com, and on Amazon only its 2.0 panels. Its Trustpilot profile reads 4.4 from 1,076 reviews, which Mito invites, split 76 percent five-star against 9 percent one-star, and it replies to 99 percent of negative reviews; the BBB rates it A and has accredited it since September 2021. No US retailer publishes its own reviews of a Mito device: Best Buy's marketplace listings, sold under Mito's trade name MRL Horizons LLC, carry ratings syndicated from mitoredlight.com, so the retailer pool is empty at every level. Mito's one recall, of the discontinued Mito Mobile Super for a battery fire risk, does not cover this device.
