Lasers and LEDs, Sold as Cleared With No Clearance on Record

The Duo-Lux is Megelin's laser-and-LED mask, with 334 LEDs and 60 VCSEL lasers across five wavelengths, run from a corded battery controller. Megelin calls it FDA-cleared with Class 3R lasers. No clearance in FDA's database names or describes the Duo-Lux: Megelin's one clearance, K252264, covers an LED-only mask in red and blue, and no listing names the Duo-Lux, so it scores 2 on verification, and Intertek's directory carries no listing for it. Megelin rates the LEDs at 45 mW/cm2 and the lasers at 70; the one measurement of a Megelin laser mask, Light Therapy Insiders' 13 to 14 mW/cm2 for the lasers, was taken on the earlier LASER&LED Mask 2.0, so light output is not scored. Megelin names no material for it. Testers like its fit and a strap that does not catch hair, and fault the missing eye protection, a USB-A cable with no adapter and a size too large for one tester. The SGS report Megelin hosts is a 32-person skin study, not an output test. It is $499 on megelin.com and $599 on Amazon.

  • No measurement of this model published
  • No eye protection or power adapter in the box, per Reviewed
  • No battery or session figures on Megelin's page
  • 1-year warranty
  • Returns cost 10 to 20 percent plus return shipping

The Megelin Duo-Lux LASER&LED Light Therapy Mask is a face mask with 334 LEDs at 595, 630, 660, 830 and 1064 nm and 60 VCSEL lasers at 660 and 1064 nm, which Megelin calls Class 3R; it rates the LEDs at 45 mW/cm2 and the lasers at 70. It runs from a battery controller on a cable with four modes and three brightness levels, and the SGS skin study Megelin hosts used 20-minute sessions; Megelin's page gives no battery figure, session length or box contents. It replaced Megelin's LASER&LED Mask 2.0, and Megelin's warranty policy covers it for 1 year.

Brand-level

Megelin is the light-device brand of Zhenxing Ruitong Technology of Shenzhen, China (Shenzhen Zhenxing Ruitong Technology Co., Ltd.), which owns the Megelin trademark, holds the one 510(k) issued for a Megelin LED mask and runs Megelin's main Amazon store, Megelin Official US; a second account, Megelin US, sells its face-and-neck mask there. FDA lists the company as a specification developer that does not manufacture, and Megelin's own FDA page cites the owner number of Shenzhen Yihong Lighting, a maker of LED pads. Megelin sells through megelin.com and Amazon only. It holds 4.4 from 987 Trustpilot reviews, 77 percent five-star against 11 percent one-star, with 432 posted in the last 12 months; it claimed the profile in January 2024, Trustpilot records no invitations from it, and it has replied to 59 percent of negative reviews in the past year, typically after more than a month. Recent one-star reviews describe restocking fees, units that failed within weeks, orders shipped from China and held in customs, and one reviewer says Megelin offered a full refund if she removed her review. The BBB rates Megelin F, not accredited, for 3 unanswered complaints on a file opened in March 2026. FDA's recall and adverse-event databases hold no entry for any Megelin device, and no federal suit names the company. Megelin pays creators through an affiliate programme and discount codes, a December 2024 Reddit thread points to review photos on megelin.com that also appear on Mito Red's and BON CHARGE's pages, and the review widget on megelin.com counts in no pool. Megelin's warranty policy gives every product a 1-year free replacement from delivery. Its refund policy accepts returns within 60 days of purchase, takes a 10 percent restocking fee on a sealed box and 20 percent on an opened one, and leaves return shipping to the buyer, while its product pages advertise a 60-day money-back guarantee with no questions asked. No US retailer sells a Megelin light device, so the retailer pool is blank. On this row four pools are populated. The Duo-Lux's own Amazon listing holds 3 ratings, so its Amazon pool reads Megelin's LED-only masks at brand level, one point lower, and Reddit holds no owner account of it.
