Usability
This is the configuration to buy if the goal is everything Kind can do on municipal water in one wall-mounted unit. Its strongest attribute is breadth: sediment, an NSF/ANSI 42 certified carbon block, salt-free scale control to 75 grains per gallon, and an NSF/ANSI 55 certified UV stage, all at 15 GPM with no floor tanks and no drain. NSF/ANSI 55 is worth singling out because it is the only genuine performance certification anywhere in the range apart from the RO system, and the 316L stainless chamber with quartz sleeve is better hardware than the plastic UV bodies common at this price. The Gadgeteer reviewed this exact model hands-on. The weakest attribute is still certification on the filtration side, where the 155-plus contaminant claim rests on Kind's own testing with no NSF/ANSI 53 or 401 listing behind it. Adding UV also costs the platform its defining advantage, since the system now needs mains power, cannot go outdoors, and adds an annual lamp and sleeve to the consumables bill. At list price this is over three thousand dollars for a cartridge system, and salt-free conditioning still leaves hardness in the water. The buyer is trading certified health-effects performance and true softening for the most complete single-box municipal treatment available without tanks.
- Four stages including an NSF/ANSI 55 certified UV chamber, the strongest certification in the range
- NSF/ANSI 42 certified carbon block for chlorine, taste and odour
- 316L stainless steel UV body with quartz sleeve, not plastic
- Full 15 GPM at 95 percent UV transmittance, no floor tanks and no drain
- Covered by an independent hands-on review at The Gadgeteer
- Lifetime limited warranty plus a 120-day satisfaction guarantee
- Filtration stages carry no NSF/ANSI 53 or 401, so the 155-plus figure is manufacturer-stated
- Requires a 110V outlet and indoor installation, unlike the non-UV E-3000
- UV lamp and quartz sleeve are annual consumables on top of cartridges
- Salt-free conditioning leaves hardness in the water, so it will not feel soft
- Over three thousand dollars at list for a cartridge-based system
The E-3000UV is Kind's top city-water configuration: sediment, carbon block, salt-free conditioning and a 50-watt UV chamber in four stages. The UV module is 316L stainless steel with a quartz sleeve, certified to NSF/ANSI 55, and holds 15 GPM at 95 percent UV transmittance. It needs a 110V outlet and annual lamp and sleeve replacement, and must be installed indoors. Overall footprint is 32 by 23.25 by 8 inches on 1 in NPT.
