Owner reports on the Explorer 5000 Plus are mixed: about 13 describe it carrying homes through outages, one through an 80-hour outage with two units and eight packs, and two cite lower bills from time-of-use shifting. TheSolarLab, under a Jackery discount code, found it could not start an air conditioner with a 10 kW surge, ran 8,000 to 9,500 W for 20 to 30 seconds, drew 58 W at idle and switched seamlessly in UPS mode, and noted that its 50 A port supports only 30 A. power49 ran essentials for 48 hours down to 42 percent and recharged in about 1.8 hours through the Smart Transfer Switch (May 2025).

Four creators tested it, all with a tie to Jackery. Jasonoid, who was sent his unit, drew 4,380 Wh on AC, 86.9 percent, at 49 dB under 7,200 W, and saw an F6 cutoff when overloaded in UPS mode (November 2024, about 159,000 views). Will Prowse, whose channel discloses free products, ran about 7,300 W to charge an EV and called it dead silent but could not connect the app over Bluetooth (about 505,000 views); Minute Man Solar, which was sent its unit, found it shut off after 14 minutes at 6,900 to 7,500 W and lost 240 V while charging from 120 V.

Costco's whole-home kit with this station, a 5 kWh expansion battery and two 500 W panels reads 3.91 from 43 reviews with 69 percent recommending it, none syndicated or incentivised. Home Depot's file on 5000 Plus bundles holds 11 reviews of its own averaging 3.0, none incentivised.
