The Epoch 12300A-H is a 12.8 V, 300 Ah LiFePO4 battery in the Essential Series, storing 3.84 kWh (3,840 Wh) in a BCI Group 31 case with four prismatic cells in series (4S1P).

Its BMS is rated at 200 A continuous discharge and 200 A continuous charge, with 400 A for up to 3 seconds, 150 A recommended for sustained loads and 100 A recommended for charging. It cuts off at 10.0 V, reconnects at 12.0 V and has short-circuit protection rated 800 A at 500 µs.

It charges from −20 to 55°C with its internal heating pads, which run on incoming charge current only, and discharges from −20 to 60°C. Below 0°C the BMS blocks charging until a charger supplying at least 0.5 A has warmed the battery to 5°C.

A built-in shunt reads current to 0.2 A on discharge and reports state of charge, voltage, current and temperature to the Epoch Li-Ion app over Bluetooth, behind a PIN printed on the lid. Up to four run in series for a 48 V class bank and up to four in parallel (4S4P).

The IP54 case measures 13.75 x 7.63 x 10.00 in (15.5 in at the handles, 10.5 in high with terminal bolts), has M8 bolt terminals and weighs 58 lb (26.3 kg). Epoch rates it for more than 4,000 cycles and says it is not a cranking battery.
