Two Heads, One Cartridge, Same Missing Data

This is the handheld unit with a fixed massage head and a diverter added, sharing the same cartridge and the same 2 GPM rating, for eighteen dollars more. Whether that is worth it comes down to whether anyone in the household wants a fixed head, because the filtration is identical and so is the roughly annual cartridge interval. The drop-down cartridge still holds more media than a puck-style filter, and it is still reversible. What has not changed is the evidence: no NSF/ANSI 177 listing, no published chlorine reduction figure, and no disclosed housing material, on a product that is now the most expensive shower filter Crystal Quest sells. At eighty dollars the competition includes certified units, and the trade is convenience and media volume against a tested number.

PROS

Fixed head and handheld wand on one diverter, sharing a single cartridge
Drop-down cartridge holds more media than puck-style shower filters
About a year of cartridge life
5.75 foot flexible hose with three-way adjustable spray
Three finishes with a five dollar spread

CONS

No NSF/ANSI 177 listing, the only shower filtration standard that exists
The most expensive shower filter in the range with identical media to the cheapest
Cartridge life is given as about a year with no gallon capacity to check it against
Housing material is not disclosed on the product page
One-year limited warranty and filter media cannot be returned

A combination unit pairing a fixed massage shower head with a handheld wand on a 5.75 foot hose, switched by a diverter, filtering through one reversible cartridge of Eagle Redox Alloy 6500 and 9500 and coconut shell carbon. Rated at 2 GPM with a 2.5 GPM peak and about a year of cartridge life. Sold in white, chrome and black.

Social Scores

Reddit ScoreProduct-line7.0

The shower line has an owner pool the rest of the catalogue lacks: an r/Naturalhair thread recommends the Crystal Quest shower filter changed twice a year as worth the investment on hard water, and r/moderatelygranolamoms rates the line alongside AquaBliss for cutting chlorine with easy fitting and removal. The cartridge is where it turns: an r/WaterTreatment thread confirms an AquaBliss cartridge does not fit the Crystal Quest housing despite online claims that it does, and an earlier thread objects to what the Crystal Quest cartridge costs against a competing filter bought new.

Google ScoreBrand-level6.0

Written coverage credits the media breadth, the published pricing and forty years of trading, and returns every time to the same gap: media certified, finished systems not listed anywhere at NSF, IAPMO or WQA, and no NSF/ANSI 177 entry for anything in the shower range. A 2026 assessment published by a competing water treatment company adds the 30 percent restocking fee and the licensed-plumber warranty condition, and is noted here as a competitor speaking rather than as a neutral source.

YouTube ScoreProduct-line6.0

An independent channel put the Crystal Quest Luxury Handheld Shower Power Filtration System through a hands-on buy-or-junk test, and another reviewed and installed the inline shower head filter. Both cover this chassis without measuring its output, which is coverage rather than evidence, but it is more than most of the catalogue gets.

Amazon ScoreProduct-line7.0

The combo has no separate readable rating, and the shower line carries 4.1 from 157 on the CQE-SP-00800, 4.3 from 147 on the shower-filter-with-head and 4.5 from 159 on the shared cartridge. Line scope. The bath-and-faucet variant family next door reads 4.4 across 1,296, which is the closest large pool to this product without being about it, and the Amazon brand-insights panel, which reads 4.3 from over a thousand ratings with 5,000-plus orders in the trailing three months and prints 4.2 on a minority of listings is collected on those same lines.

User Review ScoreBrand-level7.0

Trustpilot reads 4.0 from 54 reviews with 37 in the past twelve months, split bimodally at 50 percent five-star against 39 percent one-star, with one five-star owner naming the shower filter specifically among the products that earned their loyalty. BBB Kennesaw is the disagreeing second profile at 1 out of 5 from six customer reviews against an A plus accreditation, and its complaints are all about systems rather than shower hardware.
