Shade-Tolerant 200 W, needs A Long roof

  • What it is: a 200 W CIGS thin-film flexible panel with pre-punched holes for curved RV, van and boat roofs
  • The trade-off: light, glass-free and shade-tolerant, but it needs a roof over 82 in long and turns little of its area into power
  • Owners: one forum owner's pair lost output after one was damaged; another's matched glass panels side by side
  • Not checked: BougeRV publishes no front-sheet material for the Yuma line
  • Look elsewhere for: the most watts from a short roof

Strengths

  • Light for its rating
  • Glass-free build bends to curved roofs
  • Waterproof junction box and connectors
  • Bypass diodes limit shade losses
  • Long product warranty

Drawbacks

  • Low output per square foot of roof
  • Output falls faster in heat
  • Long panel needs a long clear roof
  • No power-station adapters in the box
  • Front-sheet material unpublished
