4.6 out of 10
  • Marketed: 25 percent cell efficiency, a cell figure, not the module
  • Page: claims 25 years to 80 percent output, the longer term, so not scored
  • Cap: the flexible ETFE-front cap of 5 does not bind
  • Shade claim: BougeRV states up to 130 W with a third of the surface shaded
  • Mounting: grommets 660 mm apart, adhesive or tape; 33.5 in 14 AWG leads
  • Standard: UL 61730 needed for a listing
  • Searched: Intertek UL CEC LabTest Certipedia SGS
  • Holder: Guangzhou Boju Information Technology Co. Ltd.
  • Not run: TÜV SÜD directory blocked
  • Policy: site policy gives panels 5 to 10 years, deferring to the manual
  • List: $269.99 at bougerv.com
  • Packs: two $519.99, three $779.99, four $999.99, eight $1,919.99, ten $2,399.99

Holds Output in Shade, middling module efficiency

  • What it is: a 200 W N-type flexible fiberglass panel with 28 bypass diodes, IP68, for shaded RV, van and boat roofs
  • The trade-off: testers saw it keep much of its output in partial shade, but one owner saw almost none when a third was shaded
  • Not checked: every tester found carries a BougeRV code, link or free unit
  • Look elsewhere for: more watts per square foot or a long output warranty

Strengths

  • Holds output under partial shade
  • Fully waterproof rating
  • Light for its output
  • Survived heavy impact testing
  • ETFE front rather than PET

Drawbacks

  • Modest output per square foot
  • Shade gains depend on which cells are covered
  • Page output warranty is the longer claimso not scored
  • Open-circuit voltage too high for some power stations
  • Flexible build caps long-term output
