Light 100 W thin film, large footprint

  • What it is: a 100 W CIGS thin-film flexible panel with pre-punched holes for curved RV, van and boat roofs
  • The trade-off: very light and glass-free, but it turns far less of its area into power than its cell figure suggests
  • Not checked: BougeRV publishes no front-sheet material and no bypass-diode count for this size
  • Look elsewhere for: the most watts from a small roof, or power-station adapters in the box

Strengths

  • Very light for its rating
  • Glass-free build bends to curved roofs
  • Waterproof junction box and connectors
  • Long product warranty
  • Pre-punched holes for screw or tie-down mounting

Drawbacks

  • Low output per square foot of roof
  • Bottom capacity rung for flexible panels
  • Output falls faster in heat
  • No power-station adapters in the box
  • Front-sheet material unpublished
