The 64,000 grain Harmony is the right answer for a genuinely large household, and at 20 GPM it is the only Aquasure softener with enough rated flow to serve four or more bathrooms without noticeable pressure loss. The extra 16,000 grains over the 48K also stretch the interval between regenerations, which matters more for salt cost than for softening quality. Everything else is unchanged from the smaller units, including the absence of any NSF/ANSI 44 listing and the same four-button control head that owners find impenetrable. Regeneration draws 50 to 75 gallons per cycle, a figure worth checking against a septic system before buying. The brine tank capacity does not scale with the resin bed, so a household big enough to need this unit will refill salt more often than the specification implies. Judged on price per grain it is the best value in the range; judged on evidence it rests on exactly the same nothing as the rest.
- Rated 20 GPM, the highest service flow of any single-tank Aquasure softener
- Two cubic feet of resin stretches the regeneration interval and reduces salt cost per gallon softened
- Metered demand-initiated regeneration rather than a timer
- Five year warranty on registration, serviceable by any qualified plumber
- Price per grain is the lowest in the Harmony range
- No NSF/ANSI 44 certification: Aquasure confirms this directly in its own product Q and A
- Regeneration consumes 50 to 75 gallons per cycle, which is worth checking against a septic system
- Same opaque four-button control head as the smaller models
- Brine tank capacity does not scale with the larger resin bed, so refills come more often
- Removes hardness only. No chemical, iron or PFAS reduction on Aquasure's own spec sheet
- Aquasure publishes no tank dimensions, which matters for a unit this size
The Aquasure Harmony Series 64,000 grain softener is the largest single-tank unit in the standard Harmony range, sized by the manufacturer for five to seven people and four or more bathrooms. It runs the same Aquatrol digital metered control head and 8 percent cross-linked resin as the smaller models on a two cubic foot resin bed. Aquasure rates service flow at 20 GPM and reports regeneration consumes 50 to 75 gallons per cycle.
